Nomination Form

An annual award scheme, which is being jointly sponsored by the Rivers Hospital and Sawbridgeworth Town Council.

The basis of the scheme is to award a prize to an individual, group, organisation or business within the parish boundary for an outstanding contribution to life in

Sawbridgeworth and Spellbrook during the last year.

The winner will receive the Rivers Hospital Trophy to be retained until the following year's presentation and a cheque for £50. that can be used to further improve life in the town, or be donated to a local community organisation of the winner's choice.

  1. Qualification - any individual, group or business who live or work within the parish.
  2. Nominations - any person over the age of 18 years, a group or business can be nominated for "Outstanding Contribution to Life in Sawbridgeworth and/or Spellbrook". The nomination form is the only accepted means of nomination which must be submitted through a currently serving Town Councillor. Nominations for the year ended 31 December 2011 must be made by no later than 19 April 2012. Only one nomination may be submitted from any organisation or group.
  3. Awards Panel - The panel will consist of The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and the Immediate Past Mayor/or a nominated Councillor. Adjudication will take place after nominations have closed during April and the judges’ decision will be binding without any appeal mechanism. The winner will be notified by the 27 April and the award will be made at the Annual Awards evening on 11 May 2012.
  4. Exclusions - All Town Councillors and employees of Sawbridgeworth Town Council and employees of Three Rivers Hospital, both as nominees and nominators.

YOUNG CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD
2011/2012

In 1994, the Sawbridgeworth Town Council introduced an Annual Award Scheme to recognise the contribution made by youngsters to the community. The scheme is open to residents of Sawbridgeworth and Spellbrook who were aged between 11 and 19 years on 31 December 2011 and who have been nominated by an organisation or an individual.

This year the winner will receive the Rivers Hospital Trophy engraved with his or her name and a cheque for £50 to be used for the benefit of a local organisation. The winner will be notified by  27 April 2012 and the award will be presented at the Annual Awards evening on 11 May 2011.

The awards panel will consist of The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and the Immediate Past Mayor/or a nominated Councillor. Adjudication will take place after nominations have closed during April and the judges’ decision will be binding without any appeal mechanism.

The Council in selecting a winner this year, will place particular emphasis on the enthusiasm and energy of the individual concerned in seeking to improve or develop the community, either through an organisation or as an individual.
